Canal vs. Carro – Which Collaborative Commerce Software is Right for Your Business?

by Ecommerce

In the next few paragraphs, we’re gonna hash out the differences by integrations, features, pricing, and more.

What is Collaborative Commerce?

Collaborative Commerce is most commonly a type of technology that connects eCommerce stores together to enable the ability to directly sell each other products without the need for inventory, managing returns, or minimum order quantities.

Integrations

Canal

Canal currently only services Shopify stores. They have customer service integrations with Gorgias and Zendesk. Additionally, they support inventory management through an integration with CIN7. In regards to integrations, their website says that they’re currently building more and to contact them for custom integration needs.

Carro

Though Carro is also only supported on Shopify, they have expressed in a recent Funding announcement their plans to support more eCommerce platforms in the future. Like Canal, their integrations are limited (as most startups). That being said, the most notable ones are Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Instagram, Facebook, and Stripe. The company has been known to build custom solutions for enterprise clients.

Sales Fee

Canal

The Canal sales fee is undefined to the public. Here’s what their site says, “There is zero cost to start selling on Canal – we take a modest cut of the sales that our platform generates for you.”

Carro

The Carro sales fee is straightforward; basically, Carro only makes money when their brands do. “There is a 5% sales fee on every sale made through Carro.”
